Description

Trusted by Leading Brands

A TRUE®  exclusive!

The unit will work to connect different types of batteries and keep them separated when there is no charging voltage available so that they do not “balance” and reduce each other efficiency like if they are paralleled without smart management.

Got a winch or plow you want to be serious about using but don’t want to worry about over working your alternator or discharging your primary battery?  Then the TRUE® Medium Dual Battery Kit is exactly what you need.

Want to run those off road lights and high amp stereo without worrying about getting stranded? Then the TRUE® Medium Dual Battery Kit will handle the batteries for you!

As with all the TRUE products it features easy installation requiring no connection to the alternator or ignition.

All the TRUE kits include proprietary built cables that use special adhesive lined shrink tube to provide a fully waterproof corrosion -proof connection between cable and lug. The adhesive also provides the connection extra strength eliminating the possibility of the lug pulling off even in high stress and/or vibration applications. A TRUE exclusive!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to run a ground wire from the auxiliary battery to the main battery?
Yes, it is highly recommended. On modern GMC/Chevy trucks with a current sensor on the negative battery terminal (often on the starting battery), you must connect the negative terminal of the auxiliary battery directly to the negative terminal of the starting battery. Failing to do this can cause the truck’s voltage regulator to cut alternator output, leading to undercharging and premature battery failure for both batteries.

Yes. It is a safety precaution to add an extra inline fuse or circuit breaker between the main battery, the isolator, and the auxiliary battery. A common recommendation is a 100-140 amp fuse or breaker on the line coming from the second battery.

The indicator light (often blue or on a separate voltmeter) illuminates when the isolator is engaged, letting you know that the auxiliary battery is currently being charged from the alternator.
The isolator engages (connects both batteries for charging) when the system voltage reaches 13.3V or higher (indicating the alternator is charging). It disengages (isolates the batteries) when the voltage drops to 12.8V or below (when the engine is off).
The technology is generally warranty-friendly and requires NO connection to the alternator or ignition system. It uses a voltage-sensitive relay (VSR) for automatic management.
Yes, the isolator features an IP65 rating for water, dust, and vibration resistance, making it ideal for harsh automotive, marine, or off-road environments.

  1. William Florence

Fixed my truck power problems. For the air bag system, I put two ahm batteries. There is no flickering of the electricity when compressors operate. My batteries are constantly fully charged thanks to this battery isolator.
