It’s specifically programmed for LiFePO₄ lithium batteries, which operate at higher voltages (13.2V–13.5V). Standard isolators often fail to engage or disengage properly with lithium systems, risking accessory drain or undercharging.
2. What is P.E.P. technology?
Power Efficiency Programming (PEP) maximizes charging efficiency from stator-based systems commonly found in UTVs. It ensures both batteries receive optimal charge without overloading the system.
3. How does the isolator know when to connect or disconnect?
It uses voltage-sensitive logic:
- Engages at 13.5V to connect both batteries for charging
- Disengages below 13.2V to protect the starter battery

It maintains my Honda Talon backup battery fully charged and ready to go anytime. Moreover, if necessary, I may use it to jump start my primary battery. To correctly hook it up, of course, you’ll need some technical knowledge of car electrical systems. The Honda Talon I drive has pre-installed wiring to power the accessories and a location for an extra battery.
