How True® Lithium Isolator Works
1. Once the engine is running and the charging system boosts the start battery’s voltage to 13.5 volts—the SBI’s cut-in threshold—the True® Smart Battery Isolator for lithium battery activates. It then links both batteries, allowing them to charge at the same time. A blue glow from the internal LED signals that the system is engaged.
2. When every voltage source falls below 13.2 volts—the SBI’s cut-out threshold—the True® Lithium Battery isolation manager disengages, separating the batteries. The internal blue LED switches off, indicating that the system is no longer actively charging.
3. When the True® lithium battery isolator switch’s LED indicator turns off, it signifies that the primary and secondary batteries have been electrically isolated. This disconnection prevents parasitic loads on the auxiliary battery from depleting the charge of the start battery.
4. After restarting the vehicle, once the start battery reaches 13.5 volts—the designated engagement threshold—the True® Smart Lithium Battery Isolator switch activates. The LED lights up, signaling that the secondary battery is now connected and charging.
